Glenn Thrush Suspended: New York Times Star Reporter Covering Donald Trump Faces Sexual Harassment Claims From Several Women

Glenn Thrush Sexual Harassment Politico New York Times

Glenn Thrush, a star reporter with the New York Times, covering the Donald Trump White House, has been accused of behaving in an inappropriate fashion around young women who were working with him.

The legendary news outlet has suspended the journalist as an investigation is being conducted. Thrush and his colleague, Maggie Haberman, became major players in Trump’s Washington because of their level of access.

Although critics have often gone after them for being too soft in their coverage of the 45th U.S. president, they were able to land a huge book deal with Random House. Thrush even got the Saturday Night Live treatment earlier this year via a Bobby Moynihan parody.

In an eye-popping exposé, Laura McGann from Vox details shocking stories of women who were allegedly wronged by Mr. Thrush.

The women’s accusations go from groping to kissing and sexual encounters where a lot of alcohol was involved. The author of the piece said she faced a similar fate while working with Thrush at Politico, a publication he left in 2016.

In a statement released via Vox, Thrush has apologized for putting those women in an uncomfortable position.

He shared: “I apologize to any woman who felt uncomfortable in my presence, and for any situation where I behaved inappropriately. Any behavior that makes a woman feel disrespected or uncomfortable is unacceptable.”

A representative for the New York Times, Eileen Murphy, put out a statement where it was revealed that Thrush is going to seek help for his problems with alcohol.

It read: “The behavior attributed to Glenn in this Vox story is very concerning and not in keeping with the standards and values of The New York Times. We intend to fully investigate and while we do, Glenn will be suspended. We support his decision to enter a substance abuse program. In the meantime, we will not be commenting further.”

Charlie Rose and Mark Halperin have also been accused of using their positions to take advantage of women.
